SAVE THE WESTERN TYERS RIVER

The Western Tyers River, Gippsland, will be sacrificed to the construction of a totally unneccessary all-weather timber road.This will result in the destruction of cool temperate rainforest and involve the dynamiting of huge irreplaceable moss and lichen covered granite boulders as can be seen in the images below.





The road (see image below) known as the South Face Road
is poised to cross the upper Western Tyers River
at the 800m contour in early November, 1998.
